"sm70- why not Duesenberg?" (sm70-whynotduesenberg)

I was sitting patiently in the turn lane waiting to turn left. When I saw you approaching half a block away and beginning to slow, since the light was yellow in your direction, I figured it you were planning on stopping at a red light as that is what the law would suggest you do. The fact that you then decided to proceed through the red light at no more than 15 miles an hour does not mean you need to honk at me for turning in front of you when I was supposed to. I apologize if my stopping and holding down my horn once I completed my turn hurt your feelings, but I did so for your own safety, as I don't think you quite realize what a blithering idiot you are or exactly what mistake you just made. I would however like to thank you for temporarily suspending whatever blindness you have that led you to decorate your car in such a manner, and not see a red light, long enough to avoid ramming into the side of my car when you ran said light.
I can only assume you were also responsible for the writing of the sign which I discovered upon reaching my destination. Thank you for still being concerned about my safety and I wish you a good day.

It is. At least if you go with the German pronunciation.

Coke? Nope. It's "cough", like the verb. At least that's the closest to the original German pronunciation.

Heckler and Koch pronounce it "Coke", according to the below:

I'm German, we Germans say "Cough" (more or less). What they mention is the American way of saying it.

I always turn left after the light turns red if there's oncoming traffic. Nobody is going to fucking accelerate into me from a stop while they're waiting at the light, and anyone trying to hit the light as it changes can clearly see me as they approach while i wait patiently in the middle of the intersection for all on-coming traffic to stop. This is the way left turns should be handled. So you don't need to leave your fate up to how you judge people's intentions based on their rate of speed.

Probably a wise suggestion.

I used to do it just like you, and had the very same problem. Then I came within three inches of an E30 that couldn't decide whether he was going to stop or gun it, and gunned it at the last second after slowing down. Then two weeks later, an old lady in a new Lexus ES made the same hesitation, except she was the one turning, and my brother was the oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, my brother couldn't stop in time as he was going the speed limit, and the lady turning was going about 2 mph as she decided to make the turn, just as he got within 10 meters of crossing the intersection... So a nasty crash was the result. Luckily no major injuries, but it was a good enough lesson for the both of us.
